Separation
Mesh is one of the oldest industrial products known to man. Woven meshes made from bronze, brass and iron have been in use around the world for more than 1,000 years.
G Bopp & Co. Ltd is a subsidiary of G Bopp & Co AG, a European operation which specialises in the production of precision woven stainless steel meshes for demanding applications in industry worldwide. Hall Pyke distributes and fabricates woven wire mesh in stainless steel and other specifications, as well as an extensive range of synthetic meshes, for use in sieving/sizing, filtration and screen printing applications.
Bopp practices the strictest quality assurance systems, guaranteeing conformity with all relevant specifications as well as traceability in line with the requirements of BS/EN/ISO standards.
As agents for G Bopp in Ireland Hall Pyke are able to offer the following services
- Stainless Steel woven wire mesh for Filtration, Sieving & Sizing. The most common produced mesh type for sale by Bopp is square weave mesh, produced with aperture sizes from just a few millimetres down to 26 micron mesh, the finest available.
- Baskets & Elements manufactured to your specifications.
- In house 42 inch remeshing facility. Larger format screens up to 7.5 x 2.6 metres are remeshed by Bopp.
- Sieve Screens remeshed via Machine Tension Bonding/Welding.
- Remeshing of Nutsche type filters and filter leaves.
- Topmesh Sintered 2 layer mesh, 15 micron - 500 micron for maximum cleanability.
- Synthetic filter cloth and mesh.
Consultation
Each wire cloth specification manufactured has very defined properties. If the product is unfamiliar a discussion prior to committing to a particular design can often save money directly or indirectly. The product range is such that we can shift the emphasis between efficiency, strength and cost depending on the requirement. Our goal is to provide the best product that economically meets the service requirements. In short Hall Pyke can assist you with your design and materials specifications, submit samples and prototypes for your approval, and fabricate with your final quality and performance criteria as our guiding concern.
SWG Vibratory Separators

SWG Vibrodynamics offer a range of separators that can be built to customer needs. Options include material of construction which may vary depending on the industry sector you are in to the number of decks per separator. We also offer a screen remeshing service in-house in Dublin where we can also remesh competitor screens.
How to Get a Mesh Count
Warp/Weft
The wires running lengthwise in a roll of wire cloth are called the warp, the wires running across weft. Only stainless steel wires that meet the exact requirements of precise wire specifications, yield point and surface face finish are used.
Aperture size (w) / Wire Diameter (d)
Woven wire cloth with square openings is designated by the apertures size (w) and the wire diameter (d). The aperture size (w) is the distance between two adjacent warp or weft wires, measured in the projected plane. Please note that the wire diameters(d) in a specification is always measured before weaving. It may be altered slightly during the weaving process.
Mesh Count
The number or apertures which are counted in a row one behind the other per inch (mesh). Mesh = 25.4 mm ÷ w (mm) + d (mm). The designation of wire cloth by mesh count is obsolete and should be discontinued. In a number of countries it is still popular and therefore indicated in our specification tables for reference purposes.
Open Screening Area (Ao)
The percentage of the surface of all apertures in the total screening surface, calculated as follows:
Ao = ![]()
e.g. w = 0.050 mm, d = 0.030 mm. Ao - 39%
Materials
BOPP-SI wire cloth is produced and stocked mainly in AISI type 304 (DIN 1.4301) and 316 (DIN 1.4401) stainless steel. A limited number of specifications is also available in chrome steel (AISI 430/DIN 1.4016).
Width/Length
The widths of 1020 mm (40"), 1220 mm (48") and 1530 mm (60") are readily available, other widths up to 2500 mm (98") can be woven to special order. Standard roll length are 30.5 m (100ft) and 15 m (50ft). We are well equipped to supply pieces cut to size, please let us know your requirements.
