Waste Oil Filtration

Fluid: waste oil from a wide variety of sources
Temperature: ambient
Pressure: 2 – 3 barg
Flowrate:
Line size: 2"

Problem:
A client who is involved in waste management and disposal collects waste oil form industrial users via road tanker. They have to clean it up and remove large debri from it before sending it for further treatment to make it saleable for use in burners and heating systems in hospital & power plants etc. The oils and coolants can be full of misc. debri and nuts & bolts etc. which are undesirable also because they foul up and shorten life on pumps thus increasing maintenance and doentime.

Solution:
They required a duty / standby system for ease of use with minimum interruption. We supplied Ronningen-Petter large surface area filter bags. They were in duplex format consisting of 2 off 2" 304 stainless steel housings model 444-224-LP mounted in parellel on common 3 port – 2 way L ported ball valves for quick and easy changeover and servicing.

Each housing contained a 30 mesh ( 585 micron ) tough reusable woven polypropylene filter bag. 6 ½" diameter x 24" long with approx. 510 sq inches of surface area per bag.

Result:
The client has a simple system which is easy to use and minimise the volume of waste filter media generated / disposed of as they are cleanable.
